New affordable homes delivered in Falcon

June 26 2026

Not for profit community housing provider, Housing Choices Western Australia has completed a new affordable housing development in Falcon, delivering eight much-needed homes amid growing housing demand and rental pressure across Western Australia.

Delivered with support from the WA State Government, the Falcon Village Precinct development provides modern, accessible and sustainable homes designed to support people on low to moderate incomes to remain connected to their community.

The homes will provide housing for older women, seniors and people experiencing housing insecurity who may otherwise struggle to access safe and affordable accommodation in the private rental market.

The project was supported by the State Government with $3.497 million capital grant funding through Department of Housing and Works and constructed by Dale Alcock Projects.

Located close to shops, medical services, public transport and community amenities, the development includes eight two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments across three buildings.

Housing Choices Australia CEO Leilani Frew said the project responds to increasing demand for safe and affordable housing, with many people continuing to experience housing stress and limited rental availability.

“The completion of these homes is an important step in increasing the supply of affordable housing and ensuring more people have access to secure, high-quality homes close to services and support.”

“We know demand for affordable and social housing continues to grow across Western Australia, with many people struggling to find homes that are both affordable and appropriate to their needs.

“These homes have been thoughtfully designed to support long-term liveability, accessibility and connection to community.” Ms Frew said.

All ground-floor apartments have been built to Silver Level Livable Housing Australia Design Guidelines, enabling homes to better adapt to residents’ changing needs over time.

The development also incorporates environmentally sustainable initiatives including water-wise landscaping with local plant species and water-efficient fixtures and fittings.

“We are proud to partner with the Western Australian Government to deliver more affordable housing options for people who need them most.”

“Addressing housing affordability requires strong collaboration between government, community housing providers and industry, and this development demonstrates what can be achieved when we work together to create lasting housing outcomes for Western Australians,” Ms Frew said.

Housing Choices Western Australia currently manages more than 1,850 properties across the state, supporting almost 2,000 Western Australians with safe, secure and affordable housing.
