Connections: Catherine House Summer 2022 Newsletter

Over the past year, our colleagues at Catherine House have worked incredibly hard to provide support to South Australian women, who felt the weight of increasing living costs as well as the worsening Australian housing crisis.

In the first six months alone, the South Australian organisation, which provided crisis, longer term accommodation and support services for women experiencing homelessness, worked with 245 clients to end their homelessness for good, provided 30 education grants to assist with further learning and personal development, and delivered more than 22,000 nutritious meals to clients.

In 2022, Catherine House also experienced a record number of calls to their intake worker.

General Manager Julie Duncan explained: “Women are calling in desperation for support. Having worked in the housing and homelessness sector for over 20 years, it’s incredibly concerning to see where we are at today.

“It is for this reason and so many more that I am so thankful that Catherine House is doing as much as we can to support these women.”

These stats and more are included in the Summer 2022 newsletter, Connections, released this week.
