The National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH) aims to ensure a well governed, well managed and viable community housing sector that meets the housing needs of tenants and provides assurance for government and investors.
Community housing providers are registered under one of three tiers of registration dependent on the scale and scope of the provider’s community housing activities
The tier of registration in turn determines the performance requirements and the intensity of regulatory engagement applicable to each provider.
Tier 1 providers face the highest level of performance requirements and regulatory engagement – reflecting the fact that Tier 1 providers are involved in activities that mean they manage a higher level of risk based on:
Housing Choices Tasmania and Housing Choices South Australia operate under the NRSCH and have both continued to achieve Tier 1 Accreditation.
In Victoria, a separate Regulatory System (based on the NRSCH) regulates the community housing sector and Housing Choices Australia also continues to achieve the highest level of accreditation.
Housing Choices Australia is a provider of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) services in line with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission (‘The Commission’) practice standards.
In July 2020, we completed our certification audit for all registered HCA entities, receiving national accreditation from the Commission.
